Life in Belgium

For French, Belgium is not so different. For me especially, Antwerp is quite similar with my town, Nancy: same architecture, a "student city", same weather, traditions, food...But I can see some differences with France.

First, about bikes. In France, we love our car and use bikes only for hobbies or sports.

Second, about the lunch and the dinner. At the beginning, it was really strange, and difficult, to me, just eat a sandwish for the lunch at 13h, 13h30 or 14h! The same idea about the dinner; it start at 18h! All of my roommates come from Belgium; for them, it is usual to do that. Something else about hours. In France, stores close at 8 o'clock in the evening and sometimes at 10 o'clock for big supermarkets. Why, in Belgium, stores close at 6 o'clock? It is really annoying for a woman who likes to shop and especially for a French young woman like me!

Finally, I know a very good thing in Belgium, unusual in France: movies in the original language. For example, an american film will be in english and not dubbed in Dutch, just with subtitles.
